Holl will get you a 3rd, especially from a team like Vancouver that needs RHD badly.

Bogosian is a 3rd paring defenceman, he definitely should not be top 4.

I would also like Clifford back. What do you think about Kovalchuk at league min? And do you think Tampa would take SDA and a 2nd for Cernak or is that too much?

Dunno if Clifford comes back at that price. He was looking for more so why settle for that now?

I believe @Trickster thought process (and he can correct me if I'm wrong) is that with teams using their cap space lesser players i.e. bottom six forwards and bottom pair D will be squeezed more. Of course, there's still teams that could offer him more but if he wanted to come back perhaps he'd accept this. The rumour I heard was Dubas offered him just over a mill over 3 years, maybe he wants 4 for that price bit who knows. What do you think about Kovalchuk on a league min contract? And do you think Tampa would take SDA and a 2nd for Cernak given their cap crunch? Or is that too much value based on their current situation?

Kovalchuk is an idea, I'd rather have Kahun I think.
I'd love to get Cernak but I fear no cap to dign him.
Value is probably okay in trade.

Can we stop this Holl stupidity....even if you wouldnt be dumping the Cap, Holl is 6th Round pick at best......then you have 2M 3rd Pair guy where 29 Teams already have 750k kids to play at......at his 28y of age....think again

I originally had him moving for 7th rounder basically to any team.

What do you think of this roster?

Kovalchuk is a idea but... can he play a bit gritty? I'm leaning towards no on this but I'm listening, change my mind.

About Tampa: the question is, which player do they value more? Cirelli or Cernak? I would say Cermak but what do I know. If they do value Cernak more, it's going to take more to get him out of Tampa IMO.

Good points. I'm with on this. I just figured Clifford has moved on from the Leafs but you guys may have a point about him circling back to the Leafs.

I think they value Cirelli more Cernak.
I'd even say they pick Sergachev over Cernak as well.

I think at this stage Kovalchuk is a finess player.

We'd have to move out Kerfoot and Holl to fit Cernak in and get a cheaper 3c.

My thinking on Kovalchuk was at 700k ww can't lose, he would most likely have an opt out clause in case it doesn't work. I know he ain't in his prime no more but put him on 2ndLW and maybe Tavares can get him going (he's been known to make his wingers better) if not maybe some scoring in our bottom six? It was just an idea I figured it has alot of upside and no downside.

I'm not sure they can afford either with segachev also needing a new deal and I think he's their top priority. What do you think it would take to get him?

That was my thinking put him with JT who has been known to make wingers better and maybe it turns out to be a good signing? Either way he'd add to the competition.
