Description

I get that it's really a 5x4mil contract if counting last year, but still, the value for Labanc is low right now. Awful year for him, no need to overpay. I get people are annoyed by it but don't care Sorensen needs to be traded if we want to make another signing, not that we really can anyway. Those Craig Smith and Jesper Fast contracts are great, I would love one of those right now.

But Labanc did not play like a player deserving of a top6 role moving forward, especially on a team trying to contend again. While the Sharks WILL play him in the top6 his last season showed he would not deserve that type of money. A true bridge deal of 2-3 years and less money would be fair.

Problem is Labanc isn't a bonafide top 6 player. Playing top and 2nd line minutes he only managed 33 points last year. You do have to take into account that the entire team sucked, but he hasn't shown that he's the "60-point player" Wilson projects him to be at all.

Dont love it. Lebanc is not good defensively. i could see a Kapanen level contract 3-3.5M per but 4.7M now we have another dead weight contract.
