Despite having countless surgeries and being completely useless, it seems like he wants to continue playing. Same with Boychuk. LTIR probably isn’t an option. Really gotta get creative somehow

That’s honestly our only hope. If we can’t make him (or Boychuk) disappear, we’re losing one of Barzal, Pulock or Toews

Why hasn’t this Ladd/Parise trade happened. Seems like both sides want it

Agreed. Keep your fingers crossed that Lou is quite convincing.

Do you think that lou should prioritize trading for parise instead of signing our 3 best players?

If they can’t move boychuk, he deserves to finish his career in Bridgeport

this is the thing that weirds me out about Boychuk, right: he is always hurt. Always. He bought this huge house in Garden City a few years ago. He likes the community, from what I understand. Ive even seen him around a bunch. So, why wouldn't he just admit he is not physically able to be a hockey player anymore and sit out on the LTIR? Gets his money, and maybe even gets christened into some sort of assistant to gm or advisory role. Doesn't take a genius to realize he is on his last legs. His career ended with the broken foot in game 4 against Pittsburgh. Surgery on both knees and a foot? Give me a break

I agree, I don’t get it.

I’m all for players getting paid, but these buyout proof contracts really piss me off lol. Anders lee will provide top 6 value for the next 3 years, but after that who knows-at least his contract is buyout friendly.

If boychuk won’t retire or if he won’t waive his NTC to play somewhere else, he needs to be sent to Bridgeport. It sucks but he doesn’t deserve to finish his career on his own terms with that contract.

I want him to get the money he signed for, like hes totally entitled to that. But forget the cap situation, he hurts the team on the ice. It just feels selfish to see the Isles going through hell and just collecting your paycheck anyway despite playing 60 mediocre games per season because your just hurt. Frustrating

I would have rather seen him get a full NMC for all 7 years with no signing bonuses in the last 2 years. Unless you’re a star player, you don’t deserve that.

Boychuk had the 3rd worst impact on his team among NHL defenseman this season. Only Marc staal and Jack Johnson were worse. I have no doubt we would have lost to Washington if he was in the lineup instead of Greene.

Prioritize? No. It’s been an ongoing rumour for 2 years now. My question has nothing to do with your roster 🙄.
