With all the good young cheap D Toronto have it really is time to either let them fill in the lineup or package them up for more dynamic assets

Y'all are always going to be snippy about trade values but everything I've done here either comes from a place of knowledgable rationality and/or has direct precedent and so why not debate my explanations here below as a starting point as it's more constructive

For instance Ottawa just paid a 5th round pick for Gudbranson at 4M / 1 year so it's reasonable to suggest they'd view Smith at 4M / 1 year fairly similarly

Dunn for two ~30th picks who are both blossoming seems quite fair and helps the STL cap situation

NYR deal has so many nuanced elements but it's 4 positive assets for 3 and you do them a favour (Smith)
