I also don’t see a ton of entitled VGK fans saying they deserve the SC nor do I think you need to have 30 years of misery to enjoy it. Most avid VGK fans followed hockey for years before the team was announced. At my office alone (~60 people) we have Sabre, Duck, Sharks, Kings, Panthers, Wild, Red Wings, Canuck, Leafs, Pitt, and AVs fans. I’ve lived in Vegas for almost 20 years so I’ve met quite a range of fans and from all over since Vegas has grown rapidly and we have military bases. I’d also wager in the most recent 3 years no other team has had to deal with the troubles Vegas has with mass shootings, economy (heavily dependent on travel), and BS on ice calls costing a series.

Rutherford has already said he made the Matheson trade to sure up the left side of the defense. No reason to add another expensive older LD. Pens would pass.
