That's about what he's worth. Girgensons, Larsson, and Okposo were a stud shut down line last year.
Yeah they only combined for 56 points all season long. All 2 guys were minus platers, too. This is a lot of money and term for a below average 4th liner.
I had him pegged at 1.8x4. Lose a year of term for a few extra dollars. Not horrible.
His value is around 1.3 Million so it's about a 900k overpayment. It's not a horrible deal because it's easily traded, but you could've got better value elsewhere.

Who has set his value at 1.3M? He had a really good year. He's worth than the 1.6 he was getting last year. Not offensively crazy but a really solid line overall

Meh. These charts still need to be blended with the eye test. There's only a select amount of data shown, and it doesn't account for the role he plays. He'd have go tten over 1.4M anywhere. This isn't an overpayment.

This chart shows what the market value for be to get a player that gives you the same result. Zemgus could've got more elsewehre but that doesn't mean it's a good deal.
Why they are still keeping this guy? Try someone from your system in the 4th line because with Zemgus in the line up Buffalo is not getting anything for a long time. I know that is not only his fault but he is not working out for this team so why not try something new?

Points aren't everything, and plus minus is an outdated stat.
They were a very good line who played against other teams top lines and had overwhelming defensive zone starts.
What would a 30 point winger with 2 NHL seasons get in arbitration?
Probably less than $2,200,000. Not sure though.
I don't know. I suspect his argument would be for PPG. He's a half a PPG player. So like 15/45. Maybe 3 mil? But yeah I'd rather him, I suspect they don't want him in their top 6.
Girgensons is a fine player but certainly not exceptional, but they better be damn confident he is on their 3rd line, paying this for a fourth liner with term is the epitome of stupidity
