I highly doubt Athanasiou is signing for a 1 year, $1M contract. Evolving Hockey has his contract projected at 4 years, $4,467,000 cap hit. With a one year contract, they have it as a $2,654,000 cap hit.

Does AA actually play centre? I doubt he'd sign for a million, but he could be an option. Although, he's very poor defensively, and McCann + whoever else will be on the third line probably won't beable to support him in the long term
