There is a reason you don't see many small centers. Reach, leverage, upper body strength. All important on the dot. Guys who are too tall have issues with stick length and getting low. Guys who are too short have no leverage and lack the strength. The 5'11-6'2 range is really gold. Smaller players to the wing. But they are worthless on the boards.
This is why smaller players fall.
I'm not saying he can't cut a niche playing wing. But he's not a center at the NHL level. No leverage.
