Sharks reject. Remove Labanc from us, and we dont really need Mccabe or Montour. Simplify the deal to Burns for Colin Miller, Kahun and a good prospect or pick maybe. Then you can make a pretty decent looking team with the cap room

The sabres trade doesn't really make sense for either side. On the sharks side it doesn't clear cap space which I imagine would be the purpose of a burns trade, and on the sabres side they are giving up a lot of roster players for only 2 in return. They'd more than likely struggle to fill out their roster afterwards

Alright here's my counter which would make a mot more sense for the Sharks:

    Buffalo Sabres

    Brent Burns
    Dylan Gambrell
    2020 5th round pick (OTT)

    San Jose Sharks

    Dominik Kahun
    Lawrence Pilut
    Colin Miller
    2020 4th round pick (BUF)
(Maybe a bit more going back to SJ or a bit less idk, we might also be interested in Asplund or Mittelstadt)

The Sabres can trade Montour for someone like Roslovic, but I'd argue he has more value than that. They also keep McCabe who is actually decent, but wouldn't have a spot on SJS unless we moved Vlasic or Simek.

Yeah hell no. Burns has one of the worst contacts in the NHL. Last year was the first steps in a decline. Locked up for too much way too long

I did the sabres side they're fine, they do it for a veteran presence to manage thier right side.
Im not sure why you feel this doesn't give cap space. There's 2 salaries going back that total less than burns and sharks need to sign 2 dmen if they trade burns, unless your going with just ferraro and whoever to replace burns? I'm pretty sure that same moneys getting spent and you could do worse than miller and mccabe. Plus you get rights of 3 decent players, if the roslovic trade and salary make sense you end up with 2 middle 6 forwards (a little generous) and respectable 4th & 5th dmen for the same price ( at least) you would have had to pay leblanc and burns. I think this helps the sharks balance thier roster and redistribute thier cap so they can sign a toffoli, i was going to take a swing at anderson to but just can't work that out without trading picks and breaking cap.

Nah if its not lebanc (or better) the whole deal goes out. I'm fine keeping mccabe or even swapping him for simek could throw in asplund too but im not taking burns if i don't get the best rfa back. Thanks tho.

Yikes Burns won't get anything in return that contract is truly untouchable. Imagine trading half of the teams defense for that galoot
