I do have Lafferty in my opening night roster because once Aston Reese is back then he is out. The Penguins have repeatedly said that the like McCann at 3C. They think he's their only option there. While I believe that is wrong, that is what the team is saying. GMJR said Riikola has to play somewhere.

McCann is not a center, they know that. They just don't have anyone better. And while I agree prospects for a 3C look bleak, they have to at least try to do better.
I'm thinking they bring in a prospect some how. We'll see.

Right. McCann is way better on the left side. There is no one in our organization that can play center behind Crosby and Malkin. Blueger is good but he is also a 4C. I personally thought Mccann was gonna get traded

this is why the Hallander trade bothered me. It's not the over valuation of Hallander, it's the fact he could have come in and played 3C. He was capable. Now they have to find someone.
