My hopes for draft day

Description
I’ve heard some rumblings, don’t know how credible they are but I think Drysdale is falling in the draft. I’m also 99% sure askarov goes top 10 in the draft. I honestly think Detroit is going to pick him. I guess the big wildcard is whether or not OTT takes Raymond or Sanderson. Would Anaheim take Raymond or Sanderson over Drysdale? With drysdale apparently falling I would think so. This is how I see the top 10 playing out:

NYR: Lafreniere
LAK: Byfield
OTT: Stutzle
DET: Askarov
OTT: Raymond/Sanderson
ANA: Sanderson/Raymond
WPG: Drysdale
BUF: Rossi
MIN: Perfetti
NJD: Holtz

I have drysdale falling to #8 at least. With BUF and MIN ahead of the Jets, I don’t think the wild would take him as their d is loaded, but I think Buffalo could bite which is why I think the Jets might have to trade up to 7. NJD likely wants a guy like Holtz, who would still be there at 10 most likely. If not they can get a scoring winger like Jarvis if they need (Holtz would still be there anyways.)

Not sure how CAR fans feel about a deal like this, but let me know. Also am I overvaluing fleury, or undervaluing him? Is the contract for him close or a bit much?

Is Necas good enough to play 2C? Is he better suited as a 2RW? Maybe they give roslovic a chance, or potentially little comes off of ltir and plays? I left enough cap space for him to slot in there.

Is this enough to get NJ to move back 3 spots and likely select the same player? They’d know why we’d be moving up and would ask for something for it to be worth their while to help us out. Also keeps drysdale out of the easy.

I like the first one but I wouldn’t be doing it to get drysdale. I honestly don’t think drysdale is a good fit for the jets for one reason: he’s undersized just like the rest of the jets d long term (except Samberg). Instead I would pick Rossi/perfetti/lundell.

Also necas isn’t well rounded enough to play 2nd line centre yet (in fact he never may be). In general, I don’t like that laine trade so I decline

I don't think Jersey does the first one and I would think Chevy wouldn't do the second one considering the Jets are taking back a pretty bad cap dump.

I get the Canes trade from a value perspective - i'm just not sure it makes sense for the Canes. Creates huge cap problems this offseason with Lanie (w ARB rights), Svech, and Hamilton to re-sign.

Pretty sure that Chevy would want Necas and Pesce in any Patrik Laine deal.

NJD trade - Although my personal preference would be to take Perfetti, I don't think NJD passes on Drysdale or Sanderson. And I don't know enough about Lundmark. But there is a big enough gap between #7 and #10 that I'd think NJD would hold their pick. Unless some team picking before them did something really foolish.

Good gawd do I hate the thought of Laine being traded!!!

I like getting Fleury from the Canes though, think he'd be a good partner for Pionk and I'm not a Samberg fan so there's that, think you're paying Fleury too much though.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I’ve read it all. Although I agree this likely isn’t the right package for Laine, I think this is what will happen if laine is dealt. I see why Carolina wouldn’t want to do this and why the Jets wouldn’t. I just hope the Jets do something, even if that’s moving up to 7 to pick Rossi. Jets could add to the trade up. Thank you for all the feedback.

honestly not much. Highlights from the frozen four and the world juniors. He seems to not necessarily stand out and be noticed but if you are Pionk's partner, I think your job is to let Pionk be Pionk. Size and skill is really welcomed on our back end.

If you hadn’t watched any college, he looked like a man playing vs boys. I watched probably 15 of his games. He looks really good

I always was a numbers guy. Besides stats and that he played on 2 NCAA championships and 2 world junior teams. The number that I like is being signed to a entry level max contract with bonuses. Not bad for someone that was drafted in the second round. I think the jets were forced to pay him that but they know his history and shows good potential.

100% he forced their hand, I mean I don’t blame him. He’s a proven winner, deserves all the money he’s getting. I get why people like stats, he looked unreal in NCAA.
