I think that's actually too much for eichel lol, but may still be worthwhile. Not giving up anything drastic other than 1OA

Yeah, the 1OA is the key piece. Strome is a lackluster replacement for Eichel, yes. But you get a puck moving RHD. An improvement in net. Lafreniere. Another pick in a deep Draft, plus next year's pick. While all of the Ranger current Prospects stay untouched.

Sabre fans can still say no, that's fine. But by no means is this an unfair proposal.

Probably pull back the 21' 1st. Just wanted that protected the Rangers current Prospects.

Given how deep their Farm System is (and Eichel himself being so young), i figured they could afford to not add on at this point.

This is a pretty good Trade offer for Jack but if I were the Sabres I wouldn't take Laf but trade the pick to Ott for 3rd OA and some other stuff and the Sabres are in rebuilding mode again because even with all those pieces Sabres are worse this year.

No it's not unfair for the Rangers. 1OA is the only elite potential, Deangelo is a very good offensive d man, Strome is a 2C, Georgiev is a potential starting goalie, and two 1sts (both late). This is actually about as fair a deal as it gets. And the Rangers get a top 10 player in the league. I wouldn't make this trade because I think the Rangers have the keys to be a great team and don't need Eichel, but if you want him you have to pay for him.

We don't need him, yet everyone sends him to us cause we have the picks and prospects and young players to do it. So why don't other teams do it then. But you guys want everyone for him. Literally gonna turn into the Eric Lindros deal if we made the dumb decision to trade for Jack Eichel. I pray it doesn't happen cause we don't need him. Fine with continuing with our rebuild and letting things take course.

First off, "you guys"? I just said that you guys don't need him and that I don't think y'all should make the deal.

Half the proposals are Rangers fans offering a combination of Strome, Andersson, Buchnevich, Deangelo, and Car 1st for Eichel. That's just disrespectful. Not that those aren't good players, just not Eichel Caliber.

All I'm saying is that if you want Eichel, you gotta give up some elite potential. I'm a hawks fan and I would never want to make the trade because it would cost too much and it would deplete our prospect pool.

If Eichel demanded a trade and the Sabres decided to rebuild, this would be an interesting offer.

Yet people act like Laf doesn't have elite potential. But then they still want half our roster and prospects on top of that.

yeah but Lafreniere doesn't have Eichel value yet. He probably will in a few years which is why they shouldn't make the trade but if you are gonna trade for him now, you have to pay current value.

No player is worth 1st overall and that much more. This league is not a sport where having a top player guarantees a playoff spot or cup (just look at Eichel's situation and even McDavid has a tough time with the Oilers). No point in trading for such a player, you have to draft and develop them. It's the best way to do it. For all we know Chytil could take massive strives or some other prospect can elevate their play in the next two years (not to the level of Eichel, but top 6 which is what we need). I'm not saying Eichel is bad by any means, I've seen him play and he's great, but it doesn't make him worth all of those assets in a trade.

I mean I agree that drafting and developing is the way to go, I don't agree though that a player isn't worth 1OA++ because look at Fleury, Johnson, Nugent Hopkins, Yakupov, Ekblad, and possible Hischier and Hughes. That's five players and maybe two more in the past 17 years that are not 1OA material. Maybe not all busts, just not superstar caliber. Eichel is an elite center who is competing for the Hart. That's worth more than the 1st because you hope that the 1st turns into a player as good as Eichel.

I'd rather take that chance cause he doesn't need to be the best player on the Rangers cause we already have serious offensive talent. Plus a cheap $925k contract for three years is fantastic than having another $10 mil player on the books (as good as he is he hasn't done a thing for that contract yet).
