You might be right. I don't think Carolina would accept the deal but I don't think it's that far from fair value. Maybe swapping Johnsson for Lijlegren something of that sort, but if Carolina is looking to contend, moving Pesce isn't a good option.

The pesce deal may be close to fair value in most people’s opinion but the canes decline. The reason is the canes have 0 need to trade pesce. If they are going to trade pesce it has to make the team way better. I don’t think this deal does that, it’s not a bad offer just not good enough
