The only reason I can see Sakic trading Burakovsky is if he's asking for 5.5M plus a year long term.

I mean the sharks could do that also. I just used a contract projector. I remember reading hes on the market though so I assume he wants to get paid.

If he continues to play the way he did this year then its not bad at all but he's only had one good year. I personally don't see him getting a long term deal. I also don't think he's on the market either.

Hes probably going to get a 4 year deal, he was good for the Avs in the regular season, good for them in the playoffs, he delivered in what the Avs got him for, all his underlying numbers were showing iwht his shot generation that he will excel in an elevated role...he did just that.

Avs got a 2nd line wingers for magic beans from the Capitals, why would they trade him for a low impact prospect for them next year and a 1st...that is not what the Avs would be looking for

Never said there going to trade him, for all the reasons you listed. All I said was i doubt there paying him 5.5 plus long term. Sakic is a cautious GM he'll, I'd think he'd be looking shorter term. Especially with Landy and Cale up next year.

They still can take him long term 3-4 years with a 5 to 5.5m cap hit. Unless your an avs fan and you have spent way too much time looking over the cap it would be hard to see at a glance, but when they re-up the important RFAs this year in Burakovsky (5m aav), Graves (2.5m aav), Nichushkin (2m aav)...they have the flexibility to trade Jost and or Zadorov and spend 6.5m on upgrades in UFA, which still gives them room to give Landeskog at 8m and Makar at 9m, and having 5m invested in their starting goalie.

They arent in the cap crunch for Makar and Landeskog that some people assume they will be if they spend this Offseason. Even if they throw 8-9m at hall they can make it all work until the Mackinnon contract is due. Their cap is really set up well during their cup window

Idk where you saw Burakovsky trade rumours. Last I heard COL was beginning contract negotiations with him - there's no reason for COL to make that trade

They can easily make it work cap wise as they have cap space and rookies to replace there depth UFAs next year. I just feel that 5.5 for 4 is a lot for one good year. If he plays like he did on the caps then its a massive overpayment, if he plays like he did this year its easily worth it. Also I'm not worried at all about Mac, he and Johnson are UFAs at the same time so thats 12.3M to sign him.

I see 3 issues Papi, 1-Joe Thornton is on this team. 2-Patrick Marleau is on this team. 3-Devan Dubnyk is on a tandem with Martin "ahl" Jones.

Think I may have misunderstood. What I read was that they were looking into deals for Zadorov, Jost and Burakovsky but nothing was imminent. I guess that must mean contracts rather than trade deals

Yeah I think they were listening to offers on Zadorov but theyve begun contract talks with Burakovsky, Graves, and Nichushkin

It's not nice to hit birds with stones. They'll tell their bird friends and then you'll have a poop covered car.
