1- 3rd LINE CENTER -------------------------------------- I love McCann as a LWer w/ his shot & his speed & would waste him at 3C
2- Top 6 RH- Winger ------------------------------------- NEED a PP#1 shot on Left wall & to help Geno w/ Zone Entries
3- 1B type back-up GOALIE --------------------------- With all the Back-to-Backs & Compressed Season need a 1B (DeSmith is not it)
4- 3rd Pairing RHD-man ------------------------------ Ruhwedel is a perfect #7, Its a big mistake to think at 31 he is all of a sudden good enough
5- 1- Physical type player ------------------------------ I'm just sooo Tired of getting beat on & Beat up
1) - The Huge 3- Team Trade :
- RAKELL (The guy we should have Targeted) & getting that Top 6 RH-Winger that has a great shot for the Left Wall spot & Can help on Zone Entries w/ Geno on PP#1 ++ a far better 5 on 5 player.
- Max JONES - I've always loved this 6'-2" / 220lb beast that can skate w/ anyone in NHL, goes 150mph every shift, will also throw big hits, be physical, & still has some offense to his game.
2) - The STROME Trade & getting a former Top 3 pick & "Real" 3rd Line Center that has Size, 2-way ability, & skill. ** A 3rd line of : McCann - Strome - Rusty would be a Nitemare matchup problem.
3) - The GRANLUND {UFA} 1yr signing - #64 is a 150 times more skilled Dom Simon type of player & would be the type of Winger that Sid loves.
4) - The 1B & #3 Goalie Upgrades:
- Adin Hill - With all the back-to-back gms next yr - Pens must get a 1B Type Goalie & the 6'-4" Clone of Matt Murray (w/ a better glove) would be a HUGE upgrade over DeSmith.
- Sam Montembeault - The former 3rd Rdr has been a fav of mine since his draft yr & provides some Insurance for Expansion Draft.
5) - The 3rd Pairing RHD of LYUBUSHKIN / Ruhwedel / Riikola would create a battle for that last spot in the D-pairings.
6) - The GRABNER {UFA} 1yr signing - always loved his speed & w/ him as the #13 Forward, he would still play bc The Pens always have atleast 1 Injury?
7) - MUST ADD DEPTH - All players on LTIR could see time w/ Pens during season

~ R/W- Ricky "Ricardo" RAKELL #67 -- [$3.79m]
~ LW- Max "Beast" JONES #49 -- [$863,]
* Pens get the guy they should have targeted originally in Rakell & a young player I love in Jones.

- STROME- is a 23-24yr old - 6-3 / 200+lb Perfect 3C behind 87 & 71. Is a good 2-way player already & will just keep getting better on offensive side. Need to put fast skaters on his wing tho.
- ENTWISTLE- The former 3rd Rdr is another big Center at 6-3 but is a bottom 6 type prospect who I've always liked a ton & is a Hallander replacement.
*[CHI] gets the youngest & most proven #1 Goalie on the market.
- MURRAY- Yah he had a down & injury riddled yr but he is only 26 & is a 2-Time Cup Winning Starting Goalie that needs a change & will be great again.
- Bjorkqvist- The former 2nd Rdr isn't rated highly as a prospect but w/ his motor & how he works out 24/7 he will be a bottom 6 NHLer for a long time IMO.
*[PIT] Adds my fav young Goalie & the needed RHD-man.
~ HILL- is a 6'-4" clone of Matt Murray w/ a better glove IMO. Have no clue why ARZ didn't lock him up long term, unless to trade him?
~ LYUBUSHKIN- is more of a physical #6 to #7 Defensive RHD-man that Improved his passing a ton this yr & is maybe getting used to the smaller rinks.
*[ARZ] gets 2 cheap Top 12 forward options.
- SIMON- is an ultra skilled Top 9 great 2-way LW/RW but if his shot improves could be a legit Top 6 guy. HCRT loved him here. Prob takes a 1-2yr @ $1m- $1.4m deal
- SCEVIOUR- is a solid /cheap 4th line RWer.
*[PIT] gets a young #3 Goalie prospect w/ NHL experience & some insurance for Expansion Draft.
~ MONTY- have liked the 6'-3" quick Goalie since his Draft yr but fell out of favor in FLA over Driedger + they have Knight as their future #1.
Strome is a 23 year old 2C RFA that since joining the Hawks 2 years ago has put up .76ppg at the ages of 21 and 22 years old; plenty more upside as well to Strome. He is worth quite a bit more then Murray.

Plenty of goalies in the market available, so no problem as we are looking elsewhere as well. Murray is a streaky goaltender that I would be very hesitant to count on as a #1 and is not even close to be worth Strome especially when the goalie market is flooded.

Murray isn't top of the list despite some of the guys being short term solutions.
