Couple things with the Buffalo trade-

-I dont see Johnson waiving to come to Buffalo
    -He is always hurt
-With the flat cap and with so many teams that need to shred cap, I think we can get a little bit better of a player at a 5 million cap hit, or a similar player with a smaller cap hit

Gourde isn't waiving for Ottawa, Nor is Johnson waiving for Buffalo. Both will be traded to far better teams then two cellar dwellers.

OTT declines, Gourde is too old and contract too long for them, he will be like 32-33 when they compete.....he not waiving for OTT...

Why would Buffalo pay 5 mil and a nice 2nd for Tyler Johnson to do Tampa a favor when they could get a very similar player Tyler Ennis for 1.5 mil - everyone knows Tampa needs to dump salary so they keep some of their young quality players - Stop thinking Johnson and Gourde are going to get you nice draft picks more like you are going to have to give nice draft picks to get rid of them.

Flyers don't accept. Depending on the cap situation after Myers and Patrick resign they might barely have room but doubtful and likely keep any extra banked for flexibility.

Tyler and Gourde are worth a 3rd to the "right teams" .. Tyler a west coast team wmlike Calgary and Gourde an East Coast team like Ottawa/Montreal.

Players will be waiving all over the place and has already started. Johnson is unplayable in Tampa and will be told he isn wanted.. if not waive BOTH of them .. saves 7M right away.. dont need either at all. Gourde contract worst JBB move by far.

Am I the only one who doesnt like Gourde?

Why is OTT trading a 2nd for a guy who will be in his age 30 season next year, to help an in division team sign their young talent? Each of the last 2 years he has put up fewer points.

Im passing on this fast if I am OTT

What contending teams have the cap to take on those 2 players?

Montreal could take Gourde, Not sure on Johnson perhaps Minnesota or Winnipeg if he'd waive for a Canadian team.

I would hardly call any of those teams contenders. None of them would have made the playoffs without the extended format this year. On top of that Minnesota is likely much worse this year and Winnipeg is trying to move Laine because they have too much cap committed to the wing. Makes little sense to do that and then add much older players with much lower production but still high cap numbers
