OS then replace picks

Créé par: SweetRevenge19

Description
The correct route likely is to not hand out big contracts, draft one of the good top D prospects in 2021, and play lottery again in 2022. Making this a just for fun post since it’s not very realistic.

- Offer sheet Sergachev.
- Make cap trades to recoup some assets lost.
(If two 2nds from each team is too much for MAF retention then values could be adjusted accomplishing same trades)
- Draft Marco Rossi. Protect on wing until ready to play center.
- Trade any/all rentals at deadline for more draft picks.

It's really not bad, I just think that's too much for serg, rather just trade for him, would cost less in terms of assets and dollars. We can protect any pick we trade, we can't protect it if we offer sheet him. Rather have owen power over serg when it's all said and donez so if we can't protect it and we win #1 we lose owen power, not worth it

Detroit isn't gonna offer sheet anyone that requires them to give up their 1st round pick. With how bad they're gonna be it's gonna be a lottery pick and a potential #1 pick isn't worth Sergachev

Of course it is. Sergachev is a 9th overall pick. He's a 22 year-old top pair Dman on the left side. Wings aren't missing out on a Connor McDavid next year. He is absolutely worth the "potential" #1 pick.

By the time next draft comes along those rankings will be very different, and there is absolutely no guarantee we even get a chance at Power. There is also no guarantee that Power becomes a legit NHL dman. Sergachev we know for a fact is. That pick is well worth giving up.

To acquire a first and third round pick. Loui will play some games. Scratch Gagner if you prefer.

Completely disagree, it's more then power, there are 3-4 stud Dmen next year that are all as good as serg. If we want serg we can trade the same pick to tampa but top 5 protect it. Then we sign serg to a way less deal as well. 7*7 which saves us cap hit also. Even if we had a remote chance of getting power, I wouldn't trade the pick knowing he's there next year. Chris pronged meets Shea weber meets bobby orr. You see this kid play? He is 6'5 and is dominant, speed is unreal for his size. No chance I would even give up the 18.7% we get him

Seems like a bad take, MAF is a clear upgrade over Reimer. But you’re certainly entitled to your opinion. Carolina can be cut out.

A trade for Serg would cost way more than what an OS does, especially if Tampa is set on re-signing him, which I am sure they are.

All of those "studs" are complete question marks. None of them, right now, are in the same league as Serg (literally and metaphorically). Serg is an NHL Dman. Those kids are playing in college or juniors haha.

I still wouldn't give up the chance to draft the next best dman in the world for serg. Serg is good, he's not a #1. Next draft projects too many dmen to even consider this. I pass easily on that offer sheet. Next year's first is going nowhere followed by Shane wright in 2022. These picks are off limits. Yzerman said unless we get their very best special players these picks are not moving. Serg is good, he's not one of the best players in the league worth this

Canucks wont trade two picks to get rid of Eriksson. He likely gets traded the following offseason when he has one yr left if the price is that high. Our GM has branded himself the draft guru and has been full marks for that but yet we have traded a lot of picks already.

You're simply overvaluing draft picks and buying into the hype. Serg is a legitimate top pair Dman. He's 22.

What if we draft Patrick? What if we draft Yakupov? What if we draft Hughes? These guys are all unknowns. Serg is worth wayyyyy more than a top 10 pick. He's worth wayyyy more than a top 5 pick.

I disagree with you. He looks good as a 4 on tampa, he didn't look that great in Montreal, also how would he look on our blue line(hes good, but you are making him out to be a 1 better than he is) not speeding up the rebuild. It's a slow through the draft rebuild and I'm sticking with what yzerman said and is doing. So I'll take my chances with raty or power next year and deny this offer sheet.

Sergachev is a #1. 22 years old (same as Hronek) and just scratching surface still. Essentially in the age/special player range Yzerman said he’d trade for

I agree looking good on Tampa is easy but he's 22 and has all the talent in the world. He's a #9 pick in a stacked draft. In other years he goes top 5 or maybe even 1.

I just don't buy into the draft hype and would much rather take the sure thing in a young talented player, especially if you're taking him away from a divisional rival.

Lol. No he's not. He hasn't shown any consistency to this day. & that potential #1 pick is Aatu Ratÿ who is exactly the type of player Detroit needs. Even if it's a top 5 pick, there's Brandt Clarke behind him and a bunch of d-man that have higher ceilings than Sergachev. He might be worth a pick between 10-15 but nothing more

I hear what your saying, I watched power play (no pun intended) and I just think he is a sure fire #1 dman who is legit pronger at 18 and would want that. Serg is good, but I'm not giving up a top 5 pick next year for him. It would be protected in a trade from me, or I wouldn't do the deal
