Kuemper isn't getting a 1st round pick with a glut of UFA Goalies on the market, There's already speculation that Armstrong wont move him for that very reason. Raanta will more then likely be moved instead.

You think so? That deal leaves Boston with roughly $7.6 million in cap space but they'll need to re-sign Grz (and probably Chara). Those two guys will eat up half that money easy (probably) more and Boston will have failed to address their scoring issue....in fact they'll have made it worse.

OEL is an offensive machine from the backend

OEL is an offensive machine from the backend

He's played roughly a 40pt d-man over the last 3 years from the backend while Krug as played at roughly a 65pt pace. In this deal Boston is trading their 4th best scoring forward over the last 3 years and one of the better 5v5 goal scoring LW in the NHL over the same time period.

Now lets say OEL sees a bump in production and gets up around 50pts. He's still slightly behind the production lost from Krug leaving and Boston will need to find someone to replace DeBrusk production. With the lack of cap space they'd have, I don't see them replacing DeBrusk production i.e. their offense would be worse.

A 2nd and a 3rd for a backup goalie? Yeah, no thanks.

Buffalo would take Stepan for a 3rd though.
