I hope this isn’t Yzerman’s plan as he’s stated multiple times he wants to acquire picks/futures and this goes against that.

You guys post these same trades every day with Murray and Johnson for a 2nd and every time the Red Wings fans come on here and decline it. Like whats the point?

Yeah no, yzerman legit came out today in an interview and said we are not trading picks and we are lol to acquire more, so for obvious reasons this is a pass

Pretty sure Murray is going to be a seperate trade from Johnson at this point to be honest. Probably will be Johnson and a 2 and maybe a 3 for like a 6th or 7th return. Then you Trade Murray for 2 2s in 21 and 22. Dont think you get that kind of a return from packaging those two together.

I don’t think we are taking Johnson. We already got Staal. Unless Nemeth is going back or somewhere else. Jack is honestly no use to us. Rather play Hicketts mcisaac or Cholo. Hell Bowey and biega. I don’t see the wings paying up for a goalie. Maybe, but I’m unsure we need to jump on this goalie carousel.

The thought was that someone suggested Murray and JJ for Glendenning and a pick, so I retained and upped the pick, probably not exactly realistic, but it's not the worst plan.

He would be a valid target to trade for an buy out, but I would absolutely not be giving up a pick to do that. Matt Murray is fine, but he's not worth that much.
