Is this a Reasonable approach?

Description
Before anyone jumps all over me for trading Simmons listen to my reasoning:
Vegas odds has the ducks 12-1 to win the cup. Without Simmons they have a good chance. Obviously adding a 25-30 goal scorer with leadership qualities and a great cap hit greatly improves their chances. To get that player the Ducks will have to give up a roster player and a promising young player along with a first round pick. Fowler and Jones fit that description. The Ducks are looking to trade Fowler anyway.
For the Flyers this deal is not good short term although with the current rash of injuries to D-men Fowler is a good replacement and still very young.
Jones, along with the 2017 1st rd pick are pieces that the flyers can add to their future list of hopefuls.
At this point I would want to see what Laughton can do, so put him with Giroux and see what he can do.In fact try out other players like Cousins with Giroux. This isnt really fair to Giroux but unless he wants out or Hextall can find a decent return for him, he is stuck in Philly with no cup in sight.
This Simmons deal is the first step in rebuilding the Flyers. When the Flyers do win a cup Simmons and Giroux will have been long gone anyway.
Other questions that can be answered: Will Konecny be as good as advertised? Is Couts a Second line center? Is Cousins a 3rd line center?
Once MDZ comes back who goes? Does Jake have a rebound year? Does Schenn continue to improve?

The Flyers aren't starting a rebuild, they are already 95% of the way through a rebuild! Trading Simmonds loses us the Top 6 forward we need. We needed one coming into this year but it looks like Konecny will fill that spot so we would be back to square 1. As for Fowler...another LHD, not what the Flyers need at all! The injuries mean nothing to us at this point in the year and is not a reason to blow up what we are doing. Thinking that the Flyers won't be contenders in 2-3 years is wrong. Provorov will be a top 2 D man by then and hopefully one if not 2 of our other D prospects are playing well by then (or a D man we acquire.)

Thats my point ..in 3 years Simmons will not be the player he is now, nor will Giroux. They are not 95% through the rebuild, I don't know how you figure that. Thinking that Provorov and Sanhiem, Konecny will be bringing home a cup in three years is wishful thinking..not impossible but still wishful. Look how long it took Duncan Keith, Toews, Seabrooke to make a dent. It was only after they got a superstar in kane and made some good moves that they finally cashed in. And this thing about righty lefty on the blueline is just bull. If your 5 or six best d-men are all lefty or all righty then who cares? You don't take a lesser player because he shoots from the wrong side. Trading one player, by the way, is not blowing up the team.

Ya 31 year olds are just old grampas and should probably retire, you are right...

Why do I think we are 95% through the rebuild...we now have a solid top 6 and really decent depth in the bottom 6, we have great goaltending and we have several young D men that aren't just potential anymore, they have proven they can play. If we add 1 more top 4 D man we have a really good chance at winning sooner rather than later.
