Description
These are 3 very passionate fan bases, so hoping I don’t get carved too bad for this one.

Montreal gives: Domi, Danault
Montreal receives: Laine
Montreal gets an elite goal scorer to play with their young centers for the next decade. They give up two solid 2nd line forwards.

Minnesota gives: Dumba
Minnesota gets: Domi
Minnesota gives up a top-4 defenseman and gets back a scoring center who would probably slot in as their 1C without any other additions.

Winnipeg gives: Laine
Winnipeg gets: Danault, Dumba
Winnipeg gives up the biggest chip, but they get the 2nd line center and the top-4 defenseman they’re looking for.

So Wild give up Dumba and all they get is Domi?
Wild really don't want Domi.

I think this makes a lot of sense for all teams.
But I agree that Minny probably needs a little more.

this feels like exactly what Winnipeg would want from a Laine trade.

I'd hate to see Danault go(also think an extension would be needed) but I'd love to see a large goal scorer in a Habs jersey.

This could be a good start as a base for a trade. Picks and Players would have to be added to balance it out.

Very fair, I figured there would be some balancing. I’m a big fan of Domi’s game, so probably a bit of bias there on my part.

Same with me id rather keep domi (if he would play on the wing) rather than trade him

It doesn't get you to Laine. The Jets have zero reason to trade Laine unless the deal is fantastic. Danault with only one year of team control left isn't enough to start the conversation. Dumba at least has 3 years, but had a really bad season and is terrible defensively, so not something Winnipeg needs.

Unfortunately, if this was the best deal out there the Jets would just keep Laine for the next 3 years. Sorry.

I would assume Winnipeg would need an extension in place with Danault to consider a trade like this. He would have the opportunity to play in the top six and get paid as such, just like he’s asked for. I suppose it would be a matter of him wanting to play in Winnipeg or not.
Dumba definitely had down year on the ice, but he’s a better player than he showed last season. I certainly understand the concerns about his defense.
