Fun fact: Tyler Ennis has the most points of any UFA centre listed on capfriendly. He may make more than 1M

Even if Tyler Johnson waived his NTC to come to Edmonton. Tampa and their cap issues would get worse as Andreas Athanasiou's agent is going to demand a raise and say he's a 26 year old 30 goal scorer that had an off year. Tampa can't afford him even with 5M coming off the cap as they need that money for Sergachev, Cirelli, and Cernak. Those three are going to cost 10M+ easily.

There is zero chance he would waive his NTC to go from Florida to Edmonton. There's a reason y'all can't sign anybody

Well your right straight up doesn’t happen leafs better be adding a lot more. Solid top 4 rd for a 3rd line winger who at best would be lucky to match neals goal total.

Andreas A is trade bait to dangle some extra salary for pieces in return. Killorn and AA in a package, or just trade Cernak with AA to get an elite deal. He isn't a dull piece and has shown elite offence in the east

Ya it’s called cap space. Pretty sure Edmonton isn’t the dead lands they were 5+ years ago.

He's a rental, that might be healthy for a month if you are lucky A team probably does not even give a 2nd for him. Definitely don't give a winger that will definitely play on 97s wing for the next 3 years.

The problem is Tampa has no room for extra salary. They have players with NTC's and RFA due huge raises. Then there's the problem with AA: will he give you 100% effort every shift or 50% effort in the defensive zone and 100% in the offensive zone. Tampa also would look and see that Yzerman evaluated him as expendable on a rebuilding club and put some weight behind that since he basically built most of their team in Tampa.

You can attempt to be realistic. What in the world has johnsson done to suggest he deserves top line minutes? 20 goal season once? Barely got 40 points what once? Generously calling him an average 3rd line winger.

I think it's been exhausted recently that Leafs don't want the bottom pair can't carry the puck Larsson and the Oil don't want the fresh off knee surgery Johnsson - these can just stop now

What has Kassian done? Or James Neal? We get it you hate Johnsson (even though he fits the mold of winger depth the oil have been desperately missing)

Well Neal did put up 19 goals in a season that was cut short and had a broken foot. Oilers could use a winger for top six duty but would think holland would aim higher than someone with a career high of 41 points and coming off a down year. Not that desperate.

Well it’s exhausting to hear larsson called a bottom pairing d. I’m not sure how that makes any sense. But if the leaf fans wanna devalue him because they don’t have what it takes to get him so be it.

Bottom line is this - both fan bases have an unfounded dis-taste for the other fan bases disposable players - if Larsson is a top 4 then Johnsson is a top 6 (if they are to switch teams)

Well has been a top four d for several years and johnsson hasn’t shown to be a top six forward. I get both fan bases hate it but maybe it has to do with the leafs under valueing other teams players not just oilers and over hyping their own fairly dramatically
