There is a limit to retained salaries. 3 per team. For that reason the ducks only retain on 1 contract. So 2m on Manson.

Ducks don’t retain on Rakell. His contract is dirt cheap. Manson + 1st is enough for Nylander because it gives cap relief for Toronto letting them get money for big name FA’s

Rackell over the last two seasons has 33 goals and 85 points in 134 gp while being a positive possession player playing with ****tier players than Nylander

Nylander has 38 goals and 86 points in 112 games played. He is also a plus possession player but given soft zone starts with better players.

I suppose he's better but Rackell literally makes half as much and given how tight our cap is that has value

Rackell does not drive play like nylander. You actually have to watch the player and not just look at stats. Especially. If you have to neglect things like age and term. Do you seriously think nylander is going to be a 40 point player when he is 27?

Why are you so obsessed with digging farther into his past? Nylander is younger more skilled and puts up more points. He drives play and possession. He’s also signed twice as long.

Watched enough ducks games to see that neither Rackell or Manson will be parts of the rebuild.

People get the idea that two 40 point players are as good as one 80 point player and that is simply not how it works. High end talent that drives play is very hard to come by.

You are the one trying to bring up stats. I watch Rackell play. I think he is good. I think his contract is good. I also know that trading nylander for him is a loss. One that a late first 99/100 times won’t fix.
