haha this is is so unrealistic, a third line forward would never get a 1st round pick in a deep draft with the assumption they will be a top 6 scoring forward despite minimal evidence to the contrary

he is worth 2nd, I was mostly joking with that deal as you can clearly see. But there is a rumour that devils want u26 young player with term for one of those picks so..

I think he was also joking about how johnsson could probably get the same as kappy. But that could just be the context I read it in.

There is value in all three of them. Johnsson one is mostly a joke but other two are serious.

you must've missed the part of the quote where he said "top-six forward" if you think you're getting 20th overall this year for Johnsson you're out to lunch lmfao

Cernak for Liljegren is absolutely fair for both sides no questions asked.

Ducks would be getting rid of Keslers money and contract, Lundestrom gets included as price to pay. Kerfoot, Dermott for Manson is more than fair..

No, it isn't but, I'm not going to go back and forth with you on this today.

Liljegren is an AHL defensman. Cernak is a top four defensman. That trade is so lopsided towards the Leafs its crazy. (No surprise there).

What makes you think that the Ducks want to rid themselves of Kessler's contract? There is no indication that is the case. They also don't need another 3rd line centre making 3.5 million dollars just to remove a top four RHD in the process.

No man... You are really off the mark here on all three of these trades.

No... not a 2nd for sure either. Overpaid middle six winger coming off a bad year and a bad injury. There are no "for sure's" at the moment in the NHL. Johnsson does not have the value.

If it is a joke, why include it and then get defensive when people call you out on it?

He is getting a 2nd back. But as you said, there are no for sures so he can get a 1st back or he can get a 3rd back (if 3rd is offer I dont see Leafs pulling the trade for exact reasons mentioned).

Because I wanted to include it. To see if people would get it or not and they didnt. Which is cool.

Yeah Liljegren is in exact same spot Cernak was a year and half ago. Barely getting into NHL. Tampa doesnt have cap to afford his extension, Leafs do. Tampa would want similar Dman on ELC, that is Liljegren who is very very very good prospect and I think he would be great for Tampa right away.

some teams work with internal cap.. Anaheim from what Ive heard is one of them and Leafs would be wise to explore helping them and at the same time getting pieces that are somewhat valuable for them. Kerfoot is valuable player defensively and I think he is valuable piece on trade market. They are also getting a younger top-4 D back for that older top-4 D so.. I think thats fair deal.

ironically, if we're talking about Top 6 potential, Johnsson played in the top 6 a lot more than Kappy ever did

Maybe call rutherford and he'll mishear Johnsson for "Johnson" at 3 1/2 million and trade a 1st for him

Your overvaluing of Leafs players is absolutely staggering.

Go ahead and get your last word in now as you must do. I see no point in continuing this conversation.

In 125 games for the leafs, Johnsson had 30G, 67P, +12
In 202 games for the leafs, Kappy had 41G, 90P, +6

Johnsson played roughly 3/4 of the time Kappy did in the 18/19 season, matching his scoring and getting 2 more primary assists and 3 less secondary assists. He had substantially less giveaways too, more than the difference in their ice time.

Even this year, with almost double the ice time and 28 more games played, Kappy had 5 more goals, 3 more primary assists and 7 more secondary assists.

For some reason, the leafs deployed him as a defensive forward despite the fact that him being on the ice made them much more likely to get shelled in their own end, he's definitely not great defensively (then again, neither is johnsson)

At worst, I'd say the two guys are basically equal tbh. Not to mention all the off ice drama, sleeping late on practices etc. that kappy had

The ducks aren’t paying anyone to take an insured contract that’ll end up LTIR when they’re current real money expense is closer to ~$10M less than cap hit and especially not a former 1st rounder.

They also don’t want a bottom 6 fwds or bottom pair D for a top 4. (I know, Manson is the worst player of all time)
