Gee. Danault scores 12 goals on a good year, while having the most ice time among Habs forward and above 100 minutes of PP time. This is not to say he's a bad player. He'd be a great fit for the Leafs, and I like forwards who can hard match top players. He's great value, just not a 1C. Caufield is a gamble. He may never play in the NHL, or he becomes a DeBrincat in the most optimistic scenario.

The Leafs get fleeced in this trade.

Danault is not good on the powerplay , but he was one of the most valuable forwards at 5v5 this year. He’s an elite 2C

TOR will trade one of it's bigger salaries this summer, but it won't be for a Danault, it'll be for top end d-men. They absolutely need blue line help.

I think Willy Nylander is the odd man out. He would fetch a stud ready to play in the NHL, plus a couple of draft picks.

I'm not saying Bergevin would do it, but it would be something like Romanov + 1st rd pick + "B" prospect for Nylander.

Toronto could draft a good player at 16 in this years draft.
