They don’t. I think @MONSTER1974 is just trying to say that it will take a high price to get Danault, and the Rangers and habs aren’t good trading partners.

If NYR trades the 1st overall pick to MTL, Danault would be a part of the package... a very large package... totally agree it'll be a big package if the first overall pick was dealt.

The point I'm making is that Danault's value is totally underestimated by fans around the league. He has some 5v5 stats that are in the top 10 in the league in certain categories, not to mention he wins 54.5% of faceoffs.

Danault is the kind of guy you deal for stud prospects, or you make a hockey trade for another good player 1for1.

Lafreniere is slated to be a player that would be in an elite category.
