Doesn’t have anything to do with taxes. It has to do with him being arbitration eligible I believe. I based his buffalo contract being similar to what players with similar production around his age got. I figured he might take a little cheaper of a deal if he were to be traded to a contender just because I’m sure the opportunity to win would cheapen his deal a little.

Yeah I meant buffalo tax to being on a not great team, hence the quotes. And no he won’t. 4.5 long term is a bad deal for him personally, even to play on a contender. 6/6.5 For 5 years anywhere, 7+ if it’s full term.

He is most likely getting 7 for 7, however, I dont see this as an offer the sabres would enterain.

I like Rust a lot, but not at the cost of Reinhart. Of course Pittsburgh never deals him without someone of that caliber coming back. I don’t think Kahun gets it done, although I think they really regret letting him come here.
