Fair enough. What specifically don't you like? The defence is definitely weak, so that would concern me. On the other hand, you've gotta give to get and Laine could be in the same ilk as Mcavoy and Pastrnak for the Bruins' future.

The team gets significantly worse. All in the hopes that some finicky one dimensional scoring winger will get his act together. Absolutely not. Debrusk could easily surpass laine in the future. He’s just such a wildcard. It’s a really bad idea for the bruins in my opinion.

His value is tough to pin down, I'll give you that. He slumped in 18-19, and he didn't score as many goals this year but was still on pace for 76 points. I see where the concern comes from but I don't think he's "bad". Would anyone be overly surprised to see him put up a 40 goal, 90 point season playing with a strong passing centre like Krejci? I don't think that's out of the cards for him.

That's definitely a problem with trading for extremely high value players like this - is the team really better off, overall? I think Laine is worth the players in this trade. But yes, it's questionable whether the Bruins are improved from this.

I don’t think it is questionable. I think they’re irreparably worse.

You gonna argue for Liane’s thriving consistency and two way game?

The issue is that Krejci is a really solid 2-way player, while I'd never put Laine on a line that doesn't have like 65%+ offensive zone starts

Nah, Laine’s goal scoring is streaky can’t deny that (but every goal scorer has hot streaks and cold spells as well) Laine’s 2 way game really improved this year, (ask anybody) actually has a good defensive presence but I also agree BOS should stay away from Laine, trade only makes your team worse cause of your play style and can’t see Laine fitting in

But the thing that tore me up is that u think DeBrusk can surpass him (even adding the easily) everything says otherwise, everybody has difference options i know but WOW

Streaky goal scorers can fall off a cliff sometimes. Didn’t galchenyuk score 30 his second or third year in the league? Then he jsut turned into nothing. Debrusk, in his second season (the last non pandemic one) had like 27 goals in 68 games or something like that. It’s not like the dude is devoid of scoring ability.

Debrusk is top 6, sure but his and Laine’s achievements already and potential rnt even in the same tier

When someone says, “so you are saying this,” when the person never even got closed to saying that, they sound really stupid.

You sound really stupid.

No, I didn’t compare their shots. I said what I said. It isn’t subjective, it’s an objective truth. There is no hidden meaning, it’s right there in simple english. I thought Manitoba was an english speaking province.

Still no. I haven’t compared laine to galchenyuk other than to say that they both had high goal scoring seasons early in their career. Do you disagree with this? No? K. Moving on.

??? Now I’m confused. Laine has 138 career nhl goals (first 4 seasons) while Gal has 72 goals in his first 4 seasons? How do u see something to compare? It’s damn near almost half

Honest question with the laine to boston thing: if Laine isn’t your top guy taking one timers on the PP1, what’s the point of having him?
