I am a habs fan and i cant see why buff would do this trade not getting a premier piece at all?

wheeler for weber has merit i just don't know if we aren't making a hole after filling one... both are older players but i think weber will age better given his style (a la chara) than wheeler.... not sure if either team would like this deal.

Clears the logjam on the right side, get a good bottom six player who can put up 20 goals who is also a formidable leader.

Wheeler is the Jets captain and has given his best seasons during his age 32 and 33 seasons, with the last still being 75 pt pace. Id bet on him over alot of others to age well, maybe not worth his cap hit by the end of it but Weber could very likely retire with years on his cap hit, thus incurring recapture penalties.

As for Ristolainen, that offer doesnt cut it. Risto is our version or Drouin. No one will pay full value and theres no incentive to trade them unless its for full value.

true but guess who has to pay those re-capture penalies ... manly nashvile just like loungo is mainly Vancouver... but weber has shown he is still top notch and good for a few more years.
