Simon is replacement level. OTT has a metric ****ton of bottom 6.

Gaborik is a valued contract, it is 4M that Melnyk doesnt have to spend.

Tierney is worth 2nd + B prospect or 3rd.

Even if we call Murray to TIerney a wash, and Simon to a 3rd a wash, its there is still the anchor JJ

JJ takes a 1st equivalent value to dump. He is atrocious. He has 3 years term. He has 9.75M owed to him over those years

Melnyk is a cheap ****.

Drop the 4th, PIT has to add Poulin/POJ or a 1st

Ottawa is not trading Gaborik. It's the easiest and cheapest way for the Senators to add Cap money without it ACTUALLY costing the owner in real money!

Gaborik may not have value to most teams but his contract has great value to Ottawa.
