This is why it's just not worth trading these two, just creating big holes on the wings that aren't that easy to fill even though the narrative is wingers are the easiest to get, well wingers like Laine and Ehlers are for sure not easy to get, trading them would be a mistake.
That forward group is pretty suspect, is Hoffmans defensive game as bad as most say it is cause on a line with Scheifele and Connor who are both not the best defensively and it'll likely get caved in most nights and that is if Hoffman will sign.
This banks on Little returning and being 100% which seems unlikely and Wheeler looks like time has caught up to him, Perreault isn't the player he once was either and who knows if Vesalainen even makes the team, might be some growth from Harkins and Roslovic which could help a bit, Soderberg might still be decent but he's what 35 now so who knows how he'll be, don't see Copp and Lowry becoming anymore productive at this point in their careers so add this all up and that forward group minus Ehlers and Laine is just a whole lot of question marks and unknowns, I just don't see trading either of those two as worth it in either the short or long term.
