If we draft Drysdale, one of Thomson/JBD has to go in a package for a top 6F (Ex: Ehlers, Nylander etc)
If we draft Raymond, a a couple of forward prospects and picks need to be moved for a defensive dman to play with Chabot.

I prefer Raymond, i just think he will be better than Marner. He does everything well and ive always loved Swedish player. I wanted Landeskog on the Sens, i remember we wouldve had him, then we traded for Anderson and he went on like an 8 game winning streak to finish the season and we lost that 2nd overall. I see Raymond as Barzal/Pettersson level.

is too good to pass up. Ottawa already has their future no. 1 winger in Tkachuk and you could always package stuff to Toronto for Marner/Nylander (Lassi Thomson could b a piece in a trade like that)

So basically a team of puck moving Dmen? Who’s going to defend on this team? We have Chabot, Brannstrom, Thomson, Wolanin as PMD. We need a shutdown guy with Chabot. And JBD can be the shutdown guy with Brannstrom

I thought Chabot was solid defensively? That top pairing would be so dangerous offensively too

I mean Chabot is decent but if he plays with a Deangelo or Risto, the pairing would be horrible. Chabot was good with Hainsey and Demelo but not good with Zaitsev. But I guess we could implement a strategy where the D is so good with the puck that the other team can’t get possession much. I prefer Raymond but I wouldn’t be mad if we took Drysdale, I like him but I’m not sure if he’s Makar/Heiskanen/Hughes level or will be.

You can’t load up that many good Dman on the team haha. It would be unfair. Plus Brannstrom-Thomson won’t be happy playing 3rd pair.

Idk if Brannstrom becomes a full blown top 4 D tbh, I see him as more of a Shattenkirk rn. Could play top 4 if he’s paired w a rly good shutdown d, like a borderline top 4 d.

You do understand that Raymond can't play in the NHL next season correct? He's contractually obligated to his Frolunda team for the season. And Byfield is nowhere near NHL ready let alone top line C.

Raymond is better than Marner but Lafreniere isn't that good. I love hockey fans.

1st overall is not always the best player. Pettersson is better than Hischier and Patrick. If NJ/Philly knew that they would’ve taken him 1st or 2nd
