for $1M in cap savings, just keep Schneider.

Kinkaid showed in Montreal that he can't stop a beach ball and save the team the actual cash.

But his Twitter engagement is great - and a fan favourite. These things are important for smaller market teams. Kinkaid is also a cheap backup, which would allow Schneider to move back to the NHL if his game picks up.

Pretty sure they can sign him to a 2-way and stick him in the AHL.

what's also important for smaller market teams, especially during the covid limited attendance and possible shortened season is cash flow... nothing has went into the organization since March, no tickets, no concessions, nada.

Run Schneider for 1 more year, then buy him out if he's total garbage again

If both teams are retaining 1.5M each, then who gets the cap advantage? hahaha

Very true about the cash flow. Our owners seem committed to adding players though which is strange. These rumours came from what the owners said during the season ticket holder meetings though.
We also have a need for a starting AHL goalie, as it's a key missing piece allowing that team to develop a winning mentality - good for prospect development

I agree about being skeptical of Jordie Benn, but I think he's an upgrade over Mueller. Ryan Mcleod is Mike Mcleod's younger brother. Similar stall in development - so maybe playing together could benefit them.
Losing Wood gives up a needed roster spot allowing younger prospects to slot in.

I was suspecting as much when I saw another Avs fan post it. Zajac's great on faceoffs and the PK though.

Maybe Walsh could slot into that spot if college hockey is cancelled this season

I heard it was cancelled until the start of 2021 i.e. January 2021, so it could go either way.

I like resigning Kinkaid if he is fine with splitting time in the AHL with Senn, and I think you could get him for less than $1,000,000 on a two-way contract. He wasn't great the last 2 years and with how bad Schneider has been NJ might be the one of the easier spots he could get a chance to play in the NHL.

Start Blackwood, backup Schneider, if/ when Schneider sucks bring up Kinkaid, if Kinkaid sucks bring up Senn, and run with Blackwood and Senn.
