hardest part about moving Bozak is probably going to be his 10-team no trade list. I'd think SJ is a possibility, and since the m-NTC limits the competition, something like what you're proposing doesn't sound unreasonable to me. Gets us most of the way to having the Pietrangelo money. I think if they retain on him or toss in a sweetener (or both), then the positive value could be pretty decent, but no one is actively searching for a $5m 3C right now.

No Jumbo? Not saying its impossible just surprised. I like most of the moves, what would go back to STL? A 7th if its just for cap? The cap is tight but I think Sharks could use another legit d-man to help the aging top 3. Maybe in a Labanc/Sorensen trade?

Not really what to give back since its just a 1yr left for Bozak, probably a future 6/7th

Top 4 is pretty set just need a 3RD

I think there's been a lot of talk that Pietrangelo and STL have stopped negotiations on a possible extension, and that he's going to sign somewhere else. But if STL did need to move Bozak to sign him, I think it'd look very similar to the jake allen trade

This move makes the sharks look incredibly thin, our team looks like it’s gonna struggle mightily. Add retention on Bozak and still we need a sweetener.

Maybe bozak - 1 mil retained - and their first -> in return we send COL 2nd and maybe a spec or another pick??? Idk you tell me.

I can’t see it being SJS’s second as that’s pick 34 and it’s basically a first

Otherwise we have zero reason to take bozak

In another thread I had mentioned Bozak @ $3m + Sanford for 34oa. Might look a little steep but the Sharks would still have 30/31 oa and the COL pick at 54oa, plus two 3rd liners at a total of 4.5m cap.

I don't think this makes the Sharks that much better. I'd rather use Bozak money on a RW in FA.

Not a lot of options this year, tempting to get through this season acquiring a pick or two by taking on a "bad" contract and then see what things are like after the expansion draft

If Marleau cost a first, then shouldn't Bozak cost nearly that, at least?

Bjugstad at 50% returned a late pick. If the insiders are to be believed, the big issue around the League is salary and not necessarily cap hit. Bjugstad is injured, also only has one year on his deal, isn't as effective as Bozak at centre and is owed $5.25m (so Minnesota on the hook for $2.625m) in salary this season.

Bozak is owed $4.25m this season. 30% retained ($3.5m cap & $3m salary) and he's still far better value than Bjugstad and doesn't have the injury risk. There is always a demand for centres. I don't think we'd have an issue moving him at that without giving assets.

If the Blues are going to extend Pietrangelo and trade Dunn, then moving Bozak with 30% retention would be enough cap space open to sign Pietrangelo and have a full 23 man roster.
