The one-way first year could mean that Bergevin plans on bringing in a veteran 4C, like Thompson, for a year. Good signing overall
I don’t understand ? The first year isn’t one-way and one-way two-way contract doesn’t have to do anything with the waivers. Evans needs top play another 51 games in the NHL to lose is waivers eligible
I think he will stay in the NHL next year mainly because is is right handed and play center as well as RW.
If they have injuries I would agree but MTL should still be adding another top 6 RW this offseason and that would push him down. Think it would be better for him to play 15+ mins a night instead of the 9-12 in the NHL

We don’t have the cap space to acquire another player this offseason
I know but he cant keep all these middle six wingers he has. Has to package one to get an actual top 6 RW to play behind Gallagher eventually. Preferably with size that can move to a 3RW role when Caufield comes

Who ? Josh Anderson ... who else could be an option

Virtanen is intriguing, maybe Palmieri, Killorn if he is cheap, but I agree there arent many options. Anderson would be a good add but he needs a contract to and dont think Bergevin trades for a guy then has to negotiate

Virtanen Killorn are middle six winger
Palmieri is probably untouchable

If the Devils tank again(which the probably will) Palmieri will be on the table for the right price, no argument. He is an extremely valuable player to a contending team, and I know a couple teams that would pay more than a first rounder for him.
