Can you explain to me what has super high value in the trade on wpgs side besides Laine? Pionk is overrated, imo he’s a decent 2RD that should play 2PP. Vesalainen likely has middle six potential at this point. Unless I’m overvaluing frost this is a good move for wpg. We get someone with bounce back potential in ghost who would be good for our second PP. we get a potential 2C in frost, a really solid 2RD with size in Myers and a potential middle 6 player in Patrick. The 1st is late but in a stacked draft. Isn’t this exactly what the Jets should be looking for in a Laine package? Solid C prospect, top 4 RHD + a 1st and a guy who was drafted 2nd OA with some decent potential.
We'll start with the easy stuff. The first is always nice and Vesalainen doesn't matter one way or the other.
Patrick- maybe worth a 3rd? He's a walking injury and the Jets should have no interest in him.
Ghost - LD so not a team need and horrific defensively. The exact opposite of what the Jets need, and far worse than Pionk.
Myers - RD which is great and would be a really nice piece, but with only one year under his belt, hasn't proven what Laine has, but still a really good player.
Frost- looks good, but hasn't proven anything yet, but could be really good.
So, the Jets are giving by far the best, most proven player and a RD that they need and getting an RD that looks really good, a center prospect that could be anything, but also getting saddled with a bad player with a bad contract and an injury.
I know most people always highly over value prospects, but you are taking it to the extreme. You want the Jets to sell Laine at a discount because he has warts, but at the same time value every young player we get at their absolute maximum potential, with no allowance for them not hitting that potential.,as of course they have no warts.
And now you want the Jets to just kick in Heinola for the hell of it.
I just don't think the value is as spectacular as you want it to be.
However, I do appreciate you taking the time to lay out your case.
