Sure dude too bad Krug wants $8 million not $7 million giving him 8 years which Sweeney would never do, Doesn't make up for the fact that he wants to get paid. And Detroit says no we don't want Moore.

    More term = More money

A 7Mx8 deal is better for him than an 8Mx6 deal.

Dude stop being in denial, He basically said in that interview that he wouldn't take no one year deal, He's been taking short term deals enough and wants to get paid. There been talk that he wants the Roman Josi deal so yeah he wants to get paid. if he were willing to take a cheap deal he'd already be resigned by Boston instead of heading to free agency.

This is an 8 year deal not a 1 year short term deal.

Nobody's giving him Josi money. I don't see his Norris trophy... Name 1 team that would give even close to that amount of money...

Too bad Sweeney wont give him 8 years though, That's not even remotely realistic rumors has it that Sweeney wont go more then 4-5 years on Krug at around $6.5m per.

For the last time Sweeney isn't giving Krug no 8 year deal. He'll be lucky to get 4 years let alone 8 years.

He said he wants to get paid. He's getting paid $7.25M, he's getting paid at $7.5M. He never said " I want $8M " or nobody reported that, you're just assuming because you want him to become a Red Wing

Is there a reason you don't want Krug to sign in Boston? He's not signing in Detroit anyways...

If Sweeney offered Krug 8 years $56 million he'd already been resigned, Even Sweeney said that things don't look good on the Krug front, And how do you know that Krug wont sign in Detroit? His childhood team his juniors coach Detroit can offer him the most money. Name me one contender who can afford to offer krug more then Detroit.

I thought you said this wasn't enough money... now your saying something completely different.

Didn't he say he wanted money and not to take a discount... now if Detroit offers him 8Mx7 that would just be terrible. Detroit's in a rebuild, they don't need a guy whose in his prime right now. By the time they will be able to compete Krug will be 32 at a minimum. You're paying him 8M for his 32-36 year old production.

You also say what contender could offer more, but last time I checked Detroit wasn't a contender.

Bottom line is there's no realistic offer from Boston for Torey Krug for 8 years $56 million only in your delusional mind Boston doesn't have the means to offer him that much without moving out other bodies like Jake DeBrusk.

Detroit passes on the Moore trade. Moore isn't a solution he's more of a band aid or stop gap and with 3 years left on his contract is more than Detroit is looking for.

This post has Krug signed at 7Mx8 and I didn't move DeBrusk... I'm not sure what your talking about...

I'm not sure why you're calling me delusional as other people agree with me and your the only person with your point of view. I'm not sure you know what the word delusional means...

^ This is the correct answer for Detroit. Anyone that offers over 7M for Krug on a 7-8 year deal is just asking to be raked over the coals (Detroit included).

Yes Moore's overpaid by 1.25M but his contract was somewhat front loaded and Detroit gets some pieces back. Plus Detroit won't be competing for the next 3 years anyways, they have too many bad contracts for the next 3 years.

It’s more about optimizing our return (getting first or multiple seconds or higher end prospects). We have a bunch of guys that can play on the bottom pair. What we need is top 4 guys so I’d rather spend the cap on guys that do just that instead of clog up our bottom pair. If we sign a guy like Dillon we then have Nemeth/Cholowski on that LD bottom pairing and Biega in the press box. In the next couple years I’d expect to see guys like Cholowski, McIsaac, and Johansson all coming up as LD so having three years tied up becomes a little burdensome and that’s without any additions to that pipeline.

Brett Ritchie is not signing with the Bruins. Krug is as good as gone.
