I think the buyers' market will translate to the Avalanche dumps a bit.
Forbort is cheap, big and up until this year was pretty durable.
Other than that how does the roster look? Notice it leaves $1.4M and the '21 1st for the deadline if more defense and goaltending if needed.
Yeah I'm curious to see how the buyers market will impact our ability to move our surplus guys. On the one hand Zadorov doesn't have a contract which may work in our favour, but on the other hand his arbitration rights may put some teams off. The market could actually be good for our chances of getting a decent return on Jost though, given that he has no arbitration rights and would be a cheap young bottom 6 forward for a lot of teams.
I don't know enough about Forbort to comment, but he seems reasonably decent for a 7D. Maybe $1.5m is a little bit too much money for a 7D in a flat cap league though, we could perhaps get cheaper deals than that. But for 1 year, no problem.
Killorn and Haula would fill two positions of need so it works prety well. I would think one of Compher or Donskoi would need to make way though as it doesn't make sense to have that much money invested in the 4th line, particularly with Kaut primed for the NHL.
One other thing to consider is the bonus overages. With $5.45m overages we're probably going to have to keep at least $2m in unused capspace or else run the risk of overages leaking into 2021-22. Which is another argument in favour of moving Compher/Donskoi if we need capspace.
