That's true. So give back a so so so player who had great success a few years ago instead of a player who has never been good.

Or better yet, just a second round pick or something.

I’d rather give nothing as there’s a ton of UFA goalies that are equally as good. I think his great success is more to do with playing with Crosby and Malkin and splitting time with a legend in MAF. It’s not a surprise that once Fluery left he’s struggled. As far as Montour, he’s not nearly as bad as you’re making him sound. Playing injured, on your off hand, with Risto would be tough on anyone. Not that Montour is great, but he’s a fine number 4 when he’s actually playing on the right side in a puck moving system

Look, I'm no Murray fan but crediting his early success to one of the most overrated players in the cap era is really stupid.

The reality is Murray is an inconsistent goalie who alternates between good and bad seasons.

Ok, even if I hold that to be true, which is fine, there’s really not a debate on whether Fluery was somewhat of a mentor and his numbers dipped (the good seasons and bad) after Fluery was gone. And looking at players that can get drafted in the second round I’d rather take my chances. Bottom line, with his qualifying offer, the fact that Ullmark or him would likely be selected by Sea, or if not due to him being more of a below average goalie, why not go the FA route unless they want Montour or something equivalent. It would seem as if actually giving anything of value would be a favor to Pitt. So what I’m saying is, let’s just not do other teams favors

I don’t want you guys to take anything. As if Hornqvist would waive his NTC for Detroit lol. But he has value so the pens aren’t going to pay to get rid of him.

Probably for this year. Next year when his NTC becomes a modified NTC would be easier to trade him. But trading him to a rebuilder like Detroit is just nonsense...just like all the Bjugstad to Detroit trades were.

Yup it makes no sense unless the team adds, since pitt isn't really wanting to do that, it makes sense for horn to go to a contender, not a rebuilder like wings. Appreciate your feedback pal, you know what's up
