Be prepared for Red Wings fans who think Mantha is Cam Neely before the knee injuries to rip your head off

although that is a horrible contract for him

I don’t think Mantha would sign for $4.5M, but even more surely he doesn’t go to Edmonton in that trade. He’ll get at least $6M+ to stay in Detroit.

Why do all Edmonton fans think the Kings even want Russell, much less that they're willing to pay for him?

Klefbom is a year older then Mantha and right now Puljujarvi doesn't have much value. Detroit can do better then this for Mantha. And for 4 x $4.5m Mantha stays in Detroit he'll probably at least get 5 x $6.5m from Yzerman.

He's tricky to value, when healthy he should be good for 30:30 with size. Thats pretty valuable. The fact that he is the most talented person on the Detroit roster makes him harder for fans to engage with a hypothetical trade.

You seem to bash Mantha/DRW fans a lot, did we pee in your cereal or something? Weird logic that a player you keep trashing keeps being traded for in opposing fan base’s ACGMs

Mantha is reportedly close to signing an extension in DET so I doubt something like this would happen

He's just bitter about Kenny Holland running the show

He's a nice player, but Red Wings fans dramatically overvalue him, especially considering he is up for a contract and already past 25 years old.

I get attacked for pointing out his lack of production and then for rightly pointing out the overvaluing, oh well.

I think most value Mantha for what he can be and has displayed the past two years (obviously some will over/under value like every fan base). A potential 70pt line driving winger on a team that is offensively inept. Over his past 82 games he’s had 30G and 42A so why would we want to sell him as a 50pt guy when we know he can do more if he doesn’t get into fights? His analytics are great and he is easily the best offensive player on the Wings. He’s also improved every single year and his injuries aren’t anything that will linger.

You aren’t pointing anything out really as I have seen you post anything except your little Neely comment. Trades need to be beneficial to both teams and people need to understand the needs to be considered on both sides of a trade.

Yet he keeps getting better. What do you call that? Magic? It’s not uncommon for bigger players to take longer to develop.

I guess I'd be bitter as well if my best player wanted out and we had to start our rebuild all over again.

I would be bitter if that actually was the case.
