Détails additionnels:
Stalock is a cheap, very serviceable backup whom the Nucks can expose to the expansion draft.
I would love a way to include Virtanen (Kunin?) in this deal, but that makes this trade crazy big...

Basic breakdown: Dumba for Boeser, Greenway and a 2nd for Gaudette, and Beckman and Stalock for Demko.
The Nucks are going to need entry level and low cap players to keep their core together. Greenway, Beckman, Stalock, and the 2nd help in that capacity.

Detroit continues to accept!

Not sure if the Canucks do the larger trade though. It obviously would mean Markstrom signs a long term deal pushing Demko out of the picture, and how high they are on Dumba as opposed to how high most seem to think they are on Boeser. Interesting idea though, well done.

I agree. Inexpensive and only a season left on his contract it's exactly what Detroit needs right now.

In a vacuum, the Isles make that trade all day long. However, Boychuk is going to be much easier to move than Ladd in a cap dump, which would still need to happen if we want to fit under the cap this season. I think with his term and the amount still needed to be paid to Ladd in bonuses, it's going to be impossible for us to trade him, so trading the more movable Boychuk without shedding any salary makes this one a bit tricky.

The bigger problem with that Parise trade is the $7,538,461 cap hit the Islanders take on. so yes, the Islanders move Boychuk and have a spot for Dobson but they pay a 3rd to take on an additional $1,538,461 in cap (for an additional 3 years beyond Boychuk) they don't have room for and have a player they must protect in the expansion draft. I know Wild fans will harp on that Parise is still a useful player. However do we know he will be on the Islanders? In their defense first system? Pushing someone out of our top 6?

At the moment the only reason to sell Boychuk off is to get cap space. He wont get the Islanders a player they can use.

Boychuk is only due 1.25 mill after his signing bonus next season which will make him easier to trade

Look at Phil kessel going from 82 points on the pens to 38 points in 70 games for the defensive minded coyotes. Parise would be lucky to get 15 goals on the isles next season

Honestly, I don't mind Parise as a player at all. If he were a UFA and we grabbed him for $3-$4 million for a couple years, I'd be over the moon. But double that for 5 years? It be a disaster, even if we are moving another big money contract in Ladd or Boychuk. He's already 36 (!), is he still going to be a top-6 forward at 40 or even 38?
