Leafs would only deal Nylander for Pulock or Dobson I imagine.

True- I made a post of the opposite side of the trade with the leafs signing Pietrangelo so i tried to trade out the cheapest and most useful contracts the Islanders have

My guess is the Leafs would offer Pietrangelo 8.5x6 and front load the **** out of it with 15.6m signing bonus the first two years (edit: each year) with 700,000 in salary each year and 12.6 his third with 700,000 in salary and 1m each year after with 700,000 in salary. Then he makes 43,8 his first 3 years in bonuses alone. The Leafs could make that work without losing Matthews, Marner, JT, or Nylander. And to be clear I don't think they sign him. You never know though.

Lou doesn't want Nylander anyways. He wasn't in any hurry to sign him when he was with Toronto and Nylander likely wouldn't have got the contract he did if Lou was still there. So no send him somewhere else if we're going to blow 6 million on a player it'll be used on Barzal or for another player.

This is definitely currently wrong but the difference isn’t a first and mayfield.. beaus shown a ton of flashes over his career but hasn’t been able to completely sustain that success yet I think he COULD be better than Nylander but isn’t there yet

You put Nylander on this team and he has the same amount of points with worse defensive numbers. He's not a top line forward. He's simply overmarketed.
