You’re getting out of cap dumps a little too easy here.

He does, but only for two more seasons, and he is owed less in actual salary than his cap hit which could be an incentive to trade for him right now as money is tight around the league.

Boychuk is also not purely a cap dump, he is still a more than capable defenseman and a great veteran presence on the blue line and in the locker room. Oilers could definitely use him.

Who care's still don't want him.

I’ve seen almost every game this season + boychuks 2 ECF games. Let’s not act like he’s not terrible because he had a few blocked shots.

Fair point, but the aging curve and advanced metrics had him providing top 6 value for 4 out of the 5 years of his contract when he signed last summer - and that was after a season where he didn’t meet expectations due to learning trotz system.

These are his metrics this season, and it’s now highly likely that he brings too 6 value for the remainder of his contract (age 30,31,32,33 seasons)

Not a huge fan of trading for Parise and trading away Eberle. I'd rather wait for the inevitable Ladd injury and send him to LTIR. personally I like ebs over parise. something about having a 36 year old make 5+M for 4 or 5 more years doesn't sit right with me

And people still think he’s a top line winger - eberle is better than parise and it’s not close. Wait till parise has to play in this demanding system where every detail matters. He’ll be lucky to score 15 goals
