Why would we trade 4 years of Nylander whose still improving for 1 year of Nugent Hopkins (no cap space to resign)?

As obvious in almost all these ACGMs, everyone is up against the cap. To take on $4M the Kings will need more than a 4th, and don't expect anything coming back.

Neal had 19 goals even though he played with a broken big toe and then sprained ankle for half of the shortened season, he's big, hits hard and can produce offence. Even on the 4th line he was one of our most effective players against Chicago. That offer to Ottawa is way to much in their favour. Only way we're taking zaitsev back is if you're throwing in Tkachuk and everyone knows that wouldn't happen.. Edmonton also has way to many dmen already,

Honestly it's a terrible deal for both sides. There's a good chance Edmonton can resign Nuge but Toronto wouldn't be able to.

Resigning nuge is no issue. One of the easiest straight forward extensions oilers have ever had.
