Khudobin probably makes more sense with your window, Bergeron will slow down soon.

You can offer khudobin a 2-3 year deal and roll the tandem like usual and this way you aren't tied to a goalie with a high cap hit past the window

I have a feeling Hall is going to sign a 1-2 year deal for around 6.5-7.25 mil with a contender. I know it seems like a pipe dream but I feel like the only teams that are actually willing to pay him the money he deserves are noncontenders, and he really won't make them contenders.

Khudobin is 100% staying in Dallas after he wins them their cup, And Jacob Markstrom reportedly wants at least 6 years $36 million to sign and there's going to be a major bidding war on him and Boston isn't going to win the man wants to get paid by the reports coming out. Reportedly one source claims that Markstrom wants 7 years $50 million to remain with Vancouver. And Sweeney isn't dealing Rask depending on his circumstances maybe he goes ahead and retires now.

I’m not seeing that. Unless you think that tuukka has no value that Calgary deal is beyond fair. I can see arguments both ways for the Edmonton deal.

I think if Rask were to get traded the Avs make much more sense.

    Rask/Bjork/3rd for Grubauer/Compher/1st.

Can’t see Flames parting with Noah for 1 year of Rask.

    EDM deal is fair.

    Zona declines.

Flames trade is fair in a nutshell yes. Hanifin > Grzelcyk so you add a high end caliber goalie like Rask to even it out. However Rask is a 7M rental that opted out of playing. There is no guarantee he even plays next year. The goalie market is also flooded with similar caliber goalies for much lower cap hits and/or more term. I would just rather stick with Hanifin in that scenario for the Flames.

I value Nurse over DeBrusk but I can understand why people could say the other way around.

Arizona trade is not fair at all.

I think you should do a smidge of reading about Rask opting out. It was an isolated incident.

The Calgary trade heavily heavily heavily favors Calgary.

Am I missing something about Kuemper? Didn’t think he was anything special.

Yes a medical emergency with his daughter, so how does that change my point. If he feels playing next year is going to expose his family too much since we are very likely to have a 2nd waive of COVID, he will probably not play.

If you think Calgary is heavily favored in that trade then go ahead and keep Rask. Leafs are offering Andersen as a rental (who is 2M cheaper and a similar caliber goalie) for a 2nd.

As for Kuemper, he was the 2nd best goalie in the league this year until he got injured, has term, and is on a really attractive contract

Well, sheesh, you’re kind of missing a lot.

Tuukka didn’t leave the bubble because he was worried that his family was at risk for covid. He left the bubble because....it was a bubble. He needed to be with his family due to a medical emergency, and he couldn’t do that while being in the bubble. If his daughter has another freak medical emergency, and they’re playing entirely in a bubble next year, sure. But by that logic every single player in the league that is a father just saw their trade value plummet.

Tuukka Rask and Andersen are not of a similar caliber. One is a solid goaltender. The other has the second best save percentage in nhl history.

Kuemper was the 2nd best goalie in the league? According to who? According to what? Why wasn’t he a vezina finalist with Tuukka? Clearly, I would prefer the bruins just go ahead and keep Tuukka and grzelcyk. I think that’s a horrific trade for boston, and i honestly can’t think of a single reason why anyone in their right mind would make it from Boston’s perspective.

A freak medical emergency very likely means a higher risk to COVID as well, that's pretty common knowledge.

I am by no means saying Rask is a bad goalie, but to say that renting him for 1 year at 7M vs renting Andersen for 5M is the better option is just wrong. The goalie market is extremely flooded and 7M is a lot to pay for 1 year.

Did you even read what I said about Kuemper? He got injured, for 2 months. Kuemper got hurt on December 19th and didn't return until February 25th. At the time of his injury he had the best SV% and best GAA amoung all starting goalies in the league. Of course he didn't get nominated for Vezina he missed a significant portion of the season, same reason Dougie Hamiltion didn't get nominated for the Norris

Okay, so what you meant to say was, “i think he was the second best goalie before getting hurt.”

Andersen is, “solid.” Tuukka is elite. Moving on.

I said he was the 2nd best until he got hurt... after further delving I concluded he was the best at the time of his injury. It's pretty much the entire reason Arizona went from 1st in the pacific to barely in the hunt
