What I can’t figure out is why? getting young talented players isn’t a bad thing but leafs are looking to compete now. The trade with Ottawa might be one of the most ridiculous trades I have seen on this site.

The way I see it, Gabornik=7th, Johnsson+Lehtonen=2nd, Liligeren=NYI 1st, Brannstrom=15th overall. That leaves 5th overall for absolutely nothing. Wow that is bad. But by the way, that package is worth Brannstrom alone, in fact, it's worth that package minus 5th overall.

We are not desperate for your pick. Keep your pick. Leafs would only want it if we sign Peitro and need to dump Nylander or Marner's salary.
