No interest from Winnipeg. Doubt Domi resigns (I know it assumes he does in the OP) and zero interest in resigning an aging and declining Petry. The 1st is nice and Juulsen might make it as a T4 if he can stay healthy and pull it all together but there isn’t anything here of any wow. Whether Montreal fans like it or not, Chev won’t listen unless one of Suzuki, KK or Romanov are coming back.

The thing about a Montreal Winnipeg trade is that it is one stop shopping for Chevy ,so its hard not to see potential in it. This package is what I would consider reasonable. Domi could be replaced with Danault. Other prospects could be added.(not Suzuki he is worth Laine one for one). I'd like to defend why Petry is a good addition. He was great in the playoffs, surprising most, his term would be 3 years, and his ask would be like 6.5 not 8 or 9. He is a win now player for a win now team.

I would love to hear how you think Petry is declining, his game has only gotten better this year and he was great in the playoffs. He’s easily got 3-4 good years left.

I highly doubt he will keep this pace for 3 years. If you think it’s a good choice to take on a 32 year old player player for a young player like Laine maybe we could swing a deal like Wheeler for Suzuki as a base. After all, Wheeers still effective and has gotten better over the last few years, I’m sure your response will be the same as mine.
Any other aging players you want the Jets to take for our young superstars??

Alright cranky pants all I’m saying is Petry absolutely hasn’t declined or showed any signs of declining. That’s the only comment I made so I don’t know what the other **** your talking about has to do with me saying Petry isn’t declining. Chara is still a legit D and he’s 43 why the hell couldnt Petry make it to 36???

I’m not saying that he isn’t a good player, I’m saying that he’s not worth giving up a 22 yr old potential 50 goal a year scorer for. All peg fans see (and no offence to your offer) is hot garbage of aging, declining or 4 quarters for a dollar trades from Montreal fans. I’ve said all along that if Montreal wants Laine, I would want one of your untouchables because like I said, giving up a player on Laine’s scoring ability and potential should net you more than the players that most Montreal fans offer. I’m not expecting a kings ransom for Laine, all I want is a young, quality, cost controlled piece back.

If it’s not what you want then that’s fine but Your assessment of players is off. Reject it if you want but this offer is not nearly as bad as you’re playing it off to be. Habs fans are trying to base trades on your team needs of another top 6 centre and holes in your D. This trade gives you an extended Domi who is young and has a 70 point season on a mediocre Habs team. Petry is a very solid D even if he is in this 30’s....Juulsen has top 4 potential and could be as good or better than Chiarot and this years first is going to be a good young piece.

Is Winnipeg rebuilding or trying to win?? This type of trade checks off the boxes in terms of what you’re missing and includes a mid first round pick in a deep draft. Oh and let’s not forget about the cap dump we’re taking on, that has some value too.
