I wouldn't do that trade as Calgary. I don't see much value in Patrick right now. He is only potential. 30 point scorer who missed the past season completely. I would want another big piece

The Flames AGM Craig Conroy has literally said that they don’t want to look stupid if they make a big trade. This just might fall into that category.

Patrick might never play again. Laughton is a versatile player, but that’s not what you want when you trade your best player

That is grossly over valuing Gaudreau. Sure he's one season removed from 99 points but a top line forward + a potential top 6 center + a top 4 RHD who looks like he's going to be a top pair guy + a first is way too much the Flames would be lucky to get one of those pieces and a first for Gaudreau obviously it would be one of those guy a first and some other things but no way its all of them and the only one I think they consider moving is Frost
