With Lindholm’s contract, I cant imagine Calgary would even consider trading him, but...IF they would consider it, what would it take?

That's a pretty fair trade if you're taking that boat anchor contract off of their hands.. Lol

Only problem is you have to sign Fiala, Kaprizov, and Ek next offseason and I'm not sure we'd have the cap space to pull it off... Maybe we would but it would be tight.

I think that's a closer to a Monahan deal. Yesterday I thought about Dumba + Zucc for Lucic and Monahan

I won’t renounce my allegiance to Wild if the acquire Monahan (like i would if they trade for Domi) but im not in favor It either, which is why im exploring this idea.

Lucic was good in the playoffs just gotta play him very little the rest of the season. Would love Lindholm. Like Tansor said would make it hard signing Fiala and Kaprizov.

Just curious why you don't like Monahan? He's way better than Domi or Strome. Consistently a 60+ point center and is a season removed from scoring 80. With Fiala and Kaprizov on his wings, I think he'd border 80 point territory again. Plays a strong two-way game, he has the size you like in centers, and he is a threat to score and make plays. Plus he doesn't turn the puck over like Domi.

Flames easily decline they aren’t giving up their only right handed forward (besides Derek Ryan). Horrible for Calgary

Lindholm is pretty much untouchable. He's like a slightly inferior version of Marner but at almost a 3rd the cap hit and almost as much term. He can also play center though. The cost to acquire him is far too high for any team to honestly bother making an offer

I think “a strong 2-way game” is a significant stretch...but the biggest thing that bugs me about Monahan is; he’s big, but he plays like he is Johnny Gaudreau’s size. He doesn’t hit or battle for pucks, and he really isnt much of a defender.

The ONLY reason I am interested in him is because the Wild have a 20 year history of boring, d-first centers and it would be a nice change to have a crazy good offensive top line! My fear is, Kaprizov/Monahan/Fiala might score 130 goals/season, but would give up 180... It still might be worth it to watch those 3 play together, but i cant escape the feeling that Monohan is not a Cup-winning #1 center.

I've seen him lay hits before, but you're right he doesn't use his size as much as he probably should. Maybe I'm misremembering his defensive game, but I thought it was decent.

I think Monahan is kind of like a Duchene or an O'Reilly. They aren't true #1 centers, more of a 1A/1B center and probably in the bottom half of the league's top 31 centers, but you can still win a cup with them especially if your middle 6 C's are strong. The Wild have Ek to take care of defensive responsibility and hopefully Johansson pans out. I'd still gladly take a 30 goal scoring center with 80 point potential who is 25 years old.

Duchene is a good comparison. Elite offensive talent but allergic to contact and gritty players. I just think players with this disposition become easy targets in the playoffs and even more easily exposed.
Like I said, I won’t renounce my allegiance to the Wild if they do this, but i wont do (mostly) naked cartwheels down W 7th St either. Heck, that alone might be enough for Guerin to push this deal through...

Oddly they aren't dissatisfied enough with Lucic to pay anything significant to get rid of him. That isn't to say they shouldn't I just know they like what he brings both in terms of physicality as well as the "glue" guy mentality to the dressing room. And Lindholm is ALMOST as untouchable as Tkatchuk and Andersson. His versatility, hockey IQ and his contract are phenomenal. That said, props for creativity. It's definitely intriguing.
