UFA rights aren't worth that much. Unless there's an extension in place beforehand there is no reason for VGK to give up that much

The bulk of the value comes from taking Stastny’s entire contract. Obviously Vegas would have to know they have some sort of avenue at Pietrangelo as well. The 8th year could be pretty valuable here.

Petros rights are prob worth a mid 2nd round pick if I had to guess. Trading a first round pick for someone who wouldn’t even play a game on your team would be uhh bad to say the least.

Yeah taking back Statsny would probably upgrade it to a first, I just think it’s unlikely. I don’t think a team is going to trade for his rights and just let him test

Yeah, Vegas would need to know they’ve got the inside track. There could be some value though because getting the 8th year could keep him away from a team with cap space like Colorado or Montreal.

That is definitely true, how are y’all holding up because I mean we didn’t lose anyone of Petro last year but losing everyone that we did at once hurt a lot. I’m feeling for you guys because I respect the hell out of the blues.

And why do we need his rights when the rumors are he already is interested to come?
